8–12 people, 90 minutes, one focused topic. A facilitator brings complementary expertise into the room and steers a real working conversation — not a panel, not a lecture.
Why it's different
Every event is designed around the same three principles, whoever's hosting and whatever the topic.
A facilitator briefs the group in advance and steers a structured question framework on the day. Every seat is a speaking part.
Each mixer centres on one clearly defined topic — from machine learning to sustainable design — with people whose expertise is relevant to it.
Every session is recorded and turned into a summary of the key ideas, the open questions and where the room agreed or disagreed. Discussion runs under Chatham House Rule — insights are shared, nothing is attributed without permission.

Mixer of Experts is run by Web Directions — built and hosted by two people so far.
Tanya partners with enterprise customers across APAC to ship production AI systems, spanning agentic AI, voice AI and multimodal architectures, with a deep focus on banking, financial services and healthcare. Based in Sydney, she writes and speaks regularly on moving agent systems from demo to production reliability.
John has been running conferences and communities for web and software professionals for over two decades through Web Directions, including AI Engineer Melbourne and AI Engineer Sydney. Mixer of Experts is his experiment in a smaller, more focused format — real conversation over presentation.
For hosts
You know the topic and the people. We handle the RSVP list, reminders and the room format — so the conversation is the only thing you need to prepare.
